We love this time of year. From the first sighting (or hearing) of geese flying north, to the call of the red winged blackbird, to the first daffodils and crocuses popping up from beneath the ground - spring is all around us. Admittedly, however, the "springing forward" an hour for day light savings time hits harder each year. The newness of spring is always exciting. It is a reminder that change is constant. The world around us is always changing, whether it is just the change of getting older each year, or learning how to use a new electronic device, change can be difficult. But, change can also be good. Joe remembers having to wait until his neighbor got off the phone until he could call his grandparents because they were on a six party line. He also remembers having to get up and walk to the TV every time he wanted to change the channel (and there were only three or four choices at the time). So, some changes are good.
