Railroad Crossing Work to Close Freeburg Road and Pawling Station Road in Snyder County

Lewisburg, PA – Motorists are advised that a portion of Pawling Station Road and Freeburg Road will close over the next few weeks in Middlecreek Twp. and Penn Twp., Snyder County, for a railroad crossing replacement project being completed by the SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority. The Freeburg and Pawling Station Roads crossings are part of a larger project to upgrade seven at-grade crossings along the Selinsgrove Industrial Track. This $3.4 million investment in safety is funded through PennDOT’s Railroad Safety Program.

From Tuesday, June 3, 2025, through Tuesday, June 10, 2025, Pawling Station Road will be closed while the contractor replaces the railroad crossing.

The Pawling Station Road detour will utilize Middle Creek Road and State Route 522 and be in place for the duration of the project. The project is expected to be completed on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, weather permitting.

From Tuesday, June 17, 2025, through Tuesday, June 24, 2025, Freeburg Road will be closed between 1st Street and Kreamer Avenue, while the contractor replaces the railroad crossing.

The Freeburg Road detour will utilize Kreamer Avenue and State Route 522 for the duration of the project. The project is expected to be completed on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, weather permitting.

Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel and drive with caution.
