Maintenance of Way (MoW) is an aspect of railway maintenance designed to ensure the railroad remains clear, safe, and navigable. MoW crews are tasked to work in all weather and all conditions, ranging from sunny days for routine checks of the tracks to howling storms in which debris or snow needs to be cleared from the tracks. MoW is also tasked with the rehabilitation and construction of the railroad tracks. The MoW Department is based out of the Lycoming Valley Railroad office in Williamsport, PA, and typically works Monday-Thursday (ten hour days).
MoW Track Laborer/Mechanic
Full-time, skilled, reliable employee who understands and respects the importance of keeping railroad tracks safe and reliable
CDL or welding experience is a plus
Experience/certification in diesel & hydraulic repairs
Understanding of electrical prints
Tasked with repairing any/all piece of MoW equipment
This is a labor intensive position.
The Locomotive Repair Department inspects, maintains, upgrades, etc. our fleet of 25+ locomotives. They are based out of our Locomotive Shop by the Lycoming Valley Railroad office in Williamsport, PA, and typically works Monday-Friday.
Diesel Locomotive Technician
Repair and preventative maintenance of large diesel engines
Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, and fabricating experience is preferred
Additional labor skills are a plus
On the job training provided
Must be able to work safely and as a team member.
All employees must have a valid driver's license; be 18 years of age or older; and be able to pass: background checks, a federally-regulated drug screening, and a Functional Capacity Examination.
